Residents of Shinfield View
Our care and the environment of the home means that loneliness and isolation simply don't happen. Isolation among older people in society is a growing problem and we are out to change that.
Many of our residents would have never thought of themselves in a 'care home' environment, it's just not something that we talk about, is it? But once they have been here for even a short stay, we know that most people will either be back soon or moving in permanently. That's because this home is not what people think of as a care home. This is a special place.. as two of our married residents put it "It's the most comfortable place we've ever lived in, it feels like home.
"I had a secret dread of going to a care home, based on my late mothers' experiences. I needn't have worried. Shinfield View is what they say in their booklet; 'luxury living and exceptional care'. All the staff were so friendly and caring. In fact, the calm professionalism of all the staff was really impressive. Shinfield View leaves an excellent example that other care homes should follow."
Friends & Family
"My mum moved into Shinfield View in November and in just four weeks we (the family) feel we are coming home when we visit Mum. The staff are friendly, caring and I feel we have known them for years! I feel such peace with Mum staying here - I know she is being so well cared for both emotionally and physically. Thank you."
Shinfield Care Team
"I enjoy being able to give the residents my time, and being able to build wonderful relationships, and listen to their amazing stories. Being there when they arrive at the home and being able to reassure them. I feel that my job is so much more than ensuring the home is kept clean and tidy, nothing is too much trouble. Being part of the Shinfield View team is such a lovely reward, and knowing you’ve made someone happy and comfortable.”
Outstanding care home team in Reading
Training is hugely important in our care home and our staff are some of the best trained in the business. But equally essential is having the right people.
If our team is happy, motivated and well rewarded, our residents receive the best care because there is no worry in the home and the focus is on nothing but providing excellent care and having fun. But we can't do this without excellent people. From our manager to our housekeeper, we are always looking for the right person to work with us, not just someone who wants a job. Our teams are dedicated to care and caring.
It is hard to describe just how proud I am of everyone at Shinfield View. The team has worked so hard to achieve what we have - a wonderful, inclusive care home with an outstanding rating.
You can read about what makes Shinfield View care home so different throughout this website but what convinces most people is a visit to the home.
It's the little details that impress our visitors so much - the time that staff are able to devote to the residents, the amazing standard of the food that is available to everyone and most of all, the 'calm professionalism' of the team.
This calm professionalism is what reassures new residents when they arrive at the home and, in turn, their loved ones, making the transition so much easier for everyone. Once settled in, it is never long before a new resident feels able to call Shinfield View 'home'.
Being able to call somewhere 'home' is universally important, but especially so when choosing a care home. That is why it is our main focus and why our residents are so happy here. Please take a look at our reviews on carehome.co.uk to reassure yourself and then I look forward to meeting you very soon.
